In Guild Wars 2 there is no gear treadmill. The only two equipment tiers for endgame gear are Exotic and Ascended . Exotic gear is the second best tier. It's relatively cheap and easy to obtain, as a full set of Berserker's exotic gear only costs ~35 gold on the Trading Post (~10 gold if you don't count trinkets).
ZC321. • 2 yr. ago. Guardian is more flexible in roles. That being said it will require different sets of gear and different traits for each of them. If you want something very easy to play that is also welcome in groups though diviners renegade rev is very nice. The ones that are generally considered useful are Mesmer, Necro, and Engineer's Elite spec Scrapper. Banners are pets too. :D. I wouldn't count Elementalist or thief as those are one off skills and not an entire skill category for those classes, as opposed to engineer, guardian, mesmer, and necromancer.
With the expansions they can evolve into more solid elite class. But TBH, pretty much any class can solo open world content. Play the class you like and just search for an OW build variant if you are struggling. Super solid builds become necessary only when you’re soloing legendary bounties or strike/raid bosses. 16.
The competitive PvP game mode of Guild Wars 2 brings many players to its doorsteps, each having their own builds. The best part about build crafting in Guild Wars 2 PvP is that when you visit the PvP Map Hub, you are already leveled up to 80 with all of your skills and traits unlocked (minus elite specializations if you don't have the expansion packs, of course), as well as a variety of runes
