FK8 - He fell in love with it. FL5 - Better car, nonsense price-tag makes it hard to justify the upgrade from FK8, he wants one. 2023 Honda Civic Type R Jun 9 Power in the new model is up from 320PS to 329PS (242kW), while torque jumps from 400Nm to 420Nm (310 lb-ft). Today, Honda Australia has confirmed local order books will be opened from December 1, 2022, and will be available from launch priced at $72,600* drive-away. 54. The new 11th-generation FL5 Civic Type R will be powered by a development of the 10th-generation's K20C1 motor, producing 235kW @6500rpm and 420Nm @2600-4000rpm. Takes a little more effort where as the FK8 felt “clicky”. As I was transferring personal belongings from the FK8 to the FL5, I noticed that there is less interior storage space than the FK8. For example the glove compartment in the FK8 is cavernous but the FL5 felt like an afterthought.

The FL5 is based on the 11th generation Civic and loses much of the ricer cosmetics of its predecessor. Instead, the more polished exterior belies greater improvements in terms of aerodynamic efficiency, power and grip. Power comes from the same engine as its predecessor with some extra ponies massaged out of it.

maybe there is an aero advantage on the fk8 at speed? a curious thing. Also, broken in engine doesnt make that much of a difference as shown in the video. Considering the thread with a fl5 dyno being higher than a fk8 stock dyno. Bet that car aint “broken in”. Lol What happens when the NEW 2023 Honda Civic Type R take on the OLD Honda Civic Type R? The results are quick unexpected | Honda Civic, Honda, drag racing, Honda Civic Type R HEH now! Some of us "older crowd"(72yo here) love the FK8 styling and think the FL5 is taxi cab style with a Boi Racer wing hung on the back. I think you misunderstood. I like the FK8. I'm saying Honda decided to tone things down yet added a tacked on looking spoiler. Honda is weird. Lol Negligible difference plus the FL5 makes more torque everywhere. Certainly not enough of a disadvantage to get pulled by multiple car lengths. I still contend that the blue FK8 TH had is quicker than your average stock FK8 for whatever reason. Its unexplainable how that happened. But its funny Update from Hondata with FK8 comparison: -----Original post---- 307whp / 327lbft Power seems expected but that torque seems quite high. Mind you this is 93 octane. I think it's 91 octane recommended. Here's 2018 on Dynojet with I think 91 octane (293whp/283lbft)
