I think what Jill is saying is that being that the Bear Grylls knives are built in China to begin with, a fake BG wouldn't be of lower quality materials/construction than a real one, but that there is also no real reason for someone in China to make fakes of a Chinese knife. 1419. Jul 6, 2003. #2. A lot of Spanish knives like Muela and Aitor use steels similar to the 440A, 440B and 440C range. There is also a steel called 440B Modified which has Vanadium, Molybdenum in it and seems quite good. I have a couple of Muela hunters which I used until I found better edge-holding steels on more expensive knives.

They are reputable. There are the usual growing pains as they try to carve out a niche for themselves.TheBear Grylls knife is a fairly low quality novelty item. People pick on the Gerber brand, however the LMF II is one of the most useful and durable knives I've owned in a long time and as an outdoors knife sees more action than any of my others. Gerber started making them out of 420HC instead, since it's cheaper. Other good Gerber knives AllGerber knives are designed in Portland. Bear Grylls is a man who loves adventure.
